I was delighted to see the photo of my great-great uncle, Samuel Perryman Cheek, on “The Cheek That Doth Not Fade” website. He was the brother of my great-great grandfather, the Reverend Marion Cheek (Isaac Marion), who was born in 1834 and was the youngest child of Ellis and Dorcas Attaway Cheek. Marion married Ann Judson Bowers, and they had Aaron R. Cheek, my grandfather. Aaron married Joanna Manley, and they had seven children, one of whom is my dear father, who is 98 years young.
He, my sister Sharon, and our families would be so happy to hear from you and determine how we are related. Please contact me via email when you have the opportunity.
Thank you very much, and we look forward to hearing from you.

Anne,
It is always good to hear from a new Cheek cousin. I will email you with more information about my branch of the family. If I have computed it correctly, we are 3rd cousins, once removed.

I guess you can count me in on the long lost cousins, too!
My father was Robert Dale Cheek, son of Lyman Ward Cheek, son of Moses Cheek, son of Isaac Marion.

Hi, Cheek cousins! Dorcas Attaway Cheek was my great-great-great-grandfather Rev. Freeman Hardy Attaway’s sister. Rev. War Soldier William Cheek was Ellis’ brother.
William married Sally and they had a son John Vines Cheek who married Aner Louisa Duncan. They had a son Samuel Cheek who married Margaret Teagle. Their daughter Nancy Cheek was my great-grandmother, married to Edward Washington Greeson, they were the parents of my grandfather Isaac Hugh Greeson who married Roxanne Floy Attaway, daughter of Charles Spurgeon Attaway and Luticea Peppers Attaway. Charles was a son of John Bunyan Attaway and Martha Hall. Charles’ grandfather was Rev. Freeman Hardy Attaway and Sarah Williamson Attaway. I would love to hear from all of you. I started a private Cheek/Teagle family website a year or so ago and still fishing for more “cousins”. I went to Rev. War Soldier William Cheek’s marker dedication a couple of years ago at Carroll’s UMC in Franklin County. I have also been to Bowersville and have posted photos of tombstones on the site. I live in Banks County, GA, just over from Franklin County.

Hello cousins, I am back on the grid and very excited to see new names. I am a gggr-grandaughter of Ellis and Dorcas Attaway Cheek via >John Bramlett > William Lumpkin – John Benjamin (JB) > Sylvester Avery ( who’s birth we have since found was recorded incorrectly as Avery Sylvester) > myself. I hope to be reconnecting with you all and am curious about a few cousins that I have not seen postings from in quite a while. I have also heard from a cousin I met in 2004 that has decided to get serious about researching. So, with that all said, I love the pic of Samual Perryman and with modernized technology as it is, I hope we can share more pics and family ties.

Yes, I am getting your mails and so glad to hear from you. There is so much I don’t have in Family Treemaker but would like to. I will do as often as I can piece things together. Please give me all you can and I will ask the others to do the same. Thank you again for writing! Always interested in knowing new “cuzzins”!!! I live in Banks County, GA, about 20 miles North of Commerce.
