Dorcas Attaway Cheek was my great-great-great-grandfather Rev. Freeman Hardy Attaway's sister. Rev. War Soldier William Cheek was Ellis' brother. William married Sally and they had a son John Vines Cheek who married Aner Louisa Duncan. They had a son Samuel Cheek who married Margaret Teagle. Their daughter Nancy Cheek was my great-grandmother, married to Edward Washington Greeson, they were the parents of my grandfather Isaac Hugh Greeson who married Roxanne Floy Attaway, daughter of Charles Spurgeon Attaway and Luticea Peppers Attaway. Charles was a son of John Bunyan Attaway and Martha Hall. Charles' grandfather was Rev. Freeman Hardy Attaway and Sarah Williamson Attaway. I would love to hear from all of you. I started a private Cheek/Teagle family website a year or so ago and still fishing for more "cousins". I went to Rev. War Soldier William Cheek's marker dedication a couple of years ago at Carroll's UMC in Franklin County. I have also been to Bowersville and have posted photos of tombstones on the site. He was the brother of my great-great grandfather, the Reverend Marion Cheek (Isaac Marion), who was born in 1834 and was the youngest child of Ellis and Dorcas Attaway Cheek. Marion married Ann Judson Bowers, and they had Aaron R. Cheek, my grandfather. Aaron married Joanna Manley, and they had seven children, one of whom is my dear father, who is 98 years young.
