 The official Sooner sports site, soonersports.com has posted a very nice memorial page for Jack Mildren with comments from his teammates, coaches, administrators and some of his more well-known opponents.  Dr. Tom Osborne said,
I have always respected Oklahoma football, and it’s because of leaders like Jack Mildren.

Jack Mildren “Godfather of the Wishbone” 1949-2008

Larry Jack Mildren, known to Sooner fans everywhere as the “Godfather of the Wishbone” passed away May 22, 2008 in Oklahoma City after a two year battle with stomach cancer. For a brief biography of Jack see
